April 2015 (Charlotte,NC)— Cancer for College will host it’s 5th annual Casino Night in the Carolinas on Friday, May 15th, 2015 at Ballantyne Country Club located at 11120 Ballantyne Crossing Ave, Charlotte, NC 28277. Since 2011, and including scholarships to be granted this year, this fundraising event has raised over $250,000 for Cancer for College and granted over 70 scholarships to cancer survivors from or attending college in the Carolinas.
“We are so proud to be able to help these young cancer survivors realize their dream of a college education,” said Cancer for College founder Craig Pollard. “Cancer is a terrible disease. It not only takes its toll on the family physically and emotionally, but financially as well. It’s inspiring to see so many people from the local community come together and support our cause.”
The evening will begin with registration and cocktails from 6:00pm until 7:00pm. Guests will have the opportunity to meet with some of the scholarship recipients and families Cancer for College has benefitted. Attendees will also hear incredible personal stories of survivorship and inspiration from current year Scholarship Recipients. They will also enjoy dinner, a silent auction, games and prizes. It will be an evening of entertainment, hope, and inspiration to benefit cancer survivors in the Carolinas.
