Haunted Savannah Tours (Review)

My husband finally won his fight with me on taking time for myself. I finally decided to go on a weekend girls trip. For the longest time I have wanted to go on a paranormal tour in Savannah, GA. Savannah is known for being one of the most haunted cities in America. I am fascinated by the paranormal.  I love history and wondering who may haunt the grounds today. This isn't true for everyone. There's not a soul in my house that will watch a documentary with me on Ghosts and Spirits. Lucky for me, my best friend loves it just as much as I do. With that said, we decided to take a trip to Savannah just for the purpose of going on one of these tours.

There's dozens of Savannah tours. Walking, carriage rides, historical, ghost etc…it's hard to choose which one to go on. Of course, we wanted one that was authentic and that might possibly give us a few heart palipations. We weren't interested in listening to fake ghost stories. We wanted the truth at what happened at these historial locations and proof that these places may in fact be haunted.

After researching what I think might have quite possibly been every tour in Savannah….we chose Haunted Savannah Tours which is owned by Georgia native Chris Allen.

It's pretty easy to pay for the tour (credit card or cash) however it is required to make reservations. What we saw with other tours, was that they fill up quickly. I much rather have a small group so I have the chance to ask questions and interact with the guide rather than a large group.

We chose the Midnight Voodoo Tour which is their adults only Savannah Ghost Tour. The website says  "This is a no holds barred tour. Take a journey into Savannah’s darker secrets including murder, suicide, ritual sacrifice, cannibalism, voodoo and the Hag. Learn the true and disturbing history behind the Mercer-Williams house which was made famous in the book and movie Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil."

And folks, the tour is just that. It started off at Colonial Park Cemetery and ended at the Mercer-Williams house. While I will not give away the details Chris shared with us, I will say there are a couple of stories that will have you watching your back.

While he is a brilliant story teller, Chris was sure not to leave everything serious. He shared plenty of jokes along the way. He was extremely personable and made everyone feel comfortable. We even had snack and potty breaks along the way. The biggest thing I really liked was that he had evidence in the form of video and photos from various incidents. This is what I came to see. I wanted evidence and he provided that to me and the other guests.

Please note, this is definitely an adult only tour. The stories are far too inappropriate for those underage.

Here's a photo (horrible cell phone quality…I know) of me, Skye and Chris after the tour

After the tour, Chris was even happy to recommend another tour to us. This also was a positive sign for me as he was not quick to turn his competitiors down.

I highly recommend you visit Chris with Haunted Savannah Tours. And if you decide to pay him a visit, I want to hear about it!
