Give Now

Giving Tuesday, held December 1st, is considered the global day of giving. Each year this campaign seeks to encourage the idea of ‘giving back’ and to support a variety of non profit organizations.

This year Charlotte’s version of Giving Tuesday has set some major goals.

• Raise 2 MILLION dollars! (Sounds like alot but I know it’s possible!)
• Increase overall giving in Charlotte
• Heighten awareness of our local nonprofit community

From now until December 1st you can pledge volunteer time, donate needed items, or make a monetary donation directly to the non profit of your choice or via GivingTuesdayCLT.org . These funds will be distributed among 108 non profit organizations in the Charlotte community.

If this goal is met, our community is helping to “end hunger and homelessness. To care for our children, our veterans and our elderly. To save our pets. To educate, encourage, train and heal. One gift for a better Charlotte.”

I receive emails on a weekly basis asking ‘how can I help?” and “Do you recommend a particular non profit?”  Honestly, this is your chance to get involved locally.

If you are a business, you can create custom products and donate proceeds or a portion of your sales on December 1st. This is also a great way to get your employees involved-make it a team effort. Partner with a specific non profit and organize a volunteer project. There’s endless possibilities. What I love about this campaign is that it’s a great way to get your family (children) involved especially now that we are entering the ‘Holidays’. My husband and I push our children to understand the importance of appreciation and giving back to those that really need our help. You never know when you’ll be in the same position.

So, tell me …..
