International Women’s Day:Invest in Women with Kiva

Today, March 8th, marks International Women’s Day! A global day that celebrates the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. It’s also a call to action for accelerating gender parity! What a day to celebrate the mothers, sisters, aunts, friends, colleagues, and women in our life.

On this important day of celebrating these incredible accomplishments among women around the world, I encourage you to use this day to INVEST in women. KIVA is working to crowdfund 10,000 loans for women who need our help. Today ONLY, your loans will be matched doubling your impact. These loans help women start businesses, go to school, and even invest in their own communities.

Kiva is an international nonprofit whose mission is to connect people through lending to alleviate poverty. To date over 1.7 million people have made loans to individuals in 84 different countries. 100% of every dollar you lend to Kiva goes to loans. Business costs are covered through grants, sponsors, and optional donations.

“Money is powerful in the hands of women determined to create change.”

I encourage you to browse the many stories on Kiva and find one that pulls at your heart. It’s an incredible feeling to be able to help another woman on the other side of the world be able to reach her dreams. Let’s empower, encourage, and motivate one another!

Happy International Women’s Day!
