Our Visit to Pebble Beach and The Inn at Spanish Bay

Each year my husband and I take a trip together minus the children. I think time away-reconnecting-is extremely important in any relationship. We had the opportunity to spend a few days in Pebble Beach, California at the Inn at Spanish Bay. If you’ve never seen this part of the country, I highly recommend it. The views and local activities are incredible.

One thing I love about The Inn, located between Carmel and Monterey, is that it overlooks one of the most amazing coastlines I have ever seen. I was honestly mesmerized each morning and evening as I looked from my room across the stunning golf course onto the Pacific Ocean.

Aside from the view and my beautiful living area for the week….my favorite part was the Bagpiper. Each evening at sunset a Bagpiper walks across the fairway to signal “the end of a magical day”.

This was one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen and this was one event I did not miss one day while we were there.

Each day as I stepped onto my balcony, this little guy came to visit me.

As you can see behind my friend-there is an amazing view of not only the Pacific but also The Links at Spanish Bay Golf Course. Here are a couple more shots of the course I was able to snap.

The resort has many activities to choose from aside from golf. I really enjoyed the spa where I had a facial and a blueberry slimming wrap. That’s right- I was slathered in blueberry slimming cream and then given time to relax in a dry flotation bed. The description is correct….I definitely felt as though I were floating. There are also several dining options and of course shopping.

While we took part in all of the above-we wanted to go on unique adventures. Just a short drive away in Carmel Valley-we visited the Quail and Olive for an olive oil tasting. This was my first experience with an olive oil tasting. I mean, sure, I’ve had lots of olive oils with my favorite breads. In a tasting like this, you sip the different olive oil and vinegar flavors. While I wasn’t a big fan of drinking the oil, I did find some great oils that I now love to cook with. My husband especially loves the Jalapeño Olive Oil.

Here’s my husband taking a look at the displayed oils wondering what he should try next.

After our olive oil tasting, we were off to check out some local wineries. Now, this is the kind of tasting I enjoy! Let’s be honest…can you really visit this part of California and NOT try the wines?

Heller Estate is actually an Organic Vineyard which I know many of my readers will love. The original vineyard was planted in 1968. A sculpture garden has now been added to the property.

We thoroughly enjoyed the Bagpiper, golf, the spa, shopping, dining and exploring the areas nearby. However, one of our favorite things about this trip was our walks along the coast. This was our time to walk hand in hand experiencing views like no other. A beautiful time to reconnect.

Do you recognize this tree? The Lone Cyprus is said to be the most photographed tree in America!

This was a magical week and by far one of my favorite locations in the United States.  In another lifetime, I’d love to settle here.

    • I had been to California but never this part of the state. I am always in awe of the incredible places we have right here in the States.

  • Oh my hubby would LOVE to visit the golf course. Such a pretty area, not that I've been. The blueberry slimming wrap sounds amazing!
