It’s hard for me to believe the new school year is already upon us. I like to pretend I’m thrilled for the kids to go back to school but in reality…..it’s lonely! Back to my home office in silence. My son isn’t asking me 1,004 questions and my daughter isn’t asking me about the next sleepover.  Now we are back to home work and soccer season.

With the new school year comes new clothes. Not only do the children want to have a fresh look for the new year, 99% of last years school clothes don’t fit anymore. So we must go shopping!

I shopped at JCPenney when I was younger but honestly haven’t taken my own kids there in a really long time. If ever. When I saw the back to school ads coming thru the mail, I knew we needed to check out what they had to offer. The sales were calling my name!

The first thing I noticed was how friendly the staff was. (Shout out to those who work at the Carolina Place Mall location!). Multiple people in different areas asked if we needed assistance, there were smiles and even thank yous for patience during the busy times. I appreciate kindness in a setting like this as I know it’s not always easy.

Ok, to the prices. That’s what you really wanted to know…..right?

For both kids, the total was $230. Let’s break that down.

For my daughter who is entering high school (*sniff*)

3 shirts

2 pair of jeans

1 pair of boots (which she LOVES!!!)

Check out her selections

For my son, boys are always cheaper,

5 shirts

1 zip hoodie

1 pair of jeans

He was pretty excited about his graphic tees.

Let’s just say I have a couple of happy kids in my home. Not to mention a happy husband who wasn’t shocked with an out of control bill.

The kids loved the selections at JCPenney. They were fun, young, stylish and plenty to choose from. And did I mention the prices? Hey, let’s face it. Moms want their kids to be happy with their clothing but they also don’t want to break the bank.

I also heard a few “we have to come back here for winter clothing!”  The kids are learning the better the prices are, the more you get. And I’m ok with that!

Did you buy school clothing at JCPenney? I’d love to hear about your finds!
