My First Colon Hydrotherapy Session

For months I've been considering Colon Hydrotherapy which is the process of cleansing the colon by passing  water through it with the use of special equipment. This flushes out impacted fecal matter, toxins, and mucous, that often build up over time. Doesn't sound very Pretty does it? I promise, once it's over with….you will feel fabulous!

As I mentioned before, Englishman in the Queen City thought I was absolutely insane for wanting to, as he put it, "get a tube stuck up my arse". As with all things, I have read positive and negative reviews. After much thought and discussion with the Mr…..I decided to make an appointment. He refers to it as me being the guinea pig. I was unbelievably nervous when I arrived to Charlotte Colon Hydrotherapy. I was going to let someone basically clean me out. Would it hurt? Would it work? And would I be embarrassed?!

When I arrived, I was greeted by Paul Simard. He and his wife are the owners of Charlotte Colon Hydrotherapy. After filling out my paperwork, Mr. Simard asked how I was feeling. I was tired and I had a headache…..both of which is normal for me. He then ask to touch me, starts repeating things and tapping on me. I have a feeling I looked at this man like he was a total quack. He was performing EFT Tapping Therapy (something I'd later google). This is a technique designed to get rid of various mental and physical ailments. While he tapped on my head, chin, under the nose, etc…..I repeated "Even though I have a headache….I deeply and profoundly accept myself." We did this until my headache went away….and IT DID! Here's basic info on this therapy http://www.eft-alive.com/how-to-do-EFT.html

Back to my colonic, Mr. Simard explained the process as he went which I found very helpful. He was very aware of my comfort and throughout the 45 minutes it takes, made sure I was without pain or discomfort. For the most part, there really isn't much pain. I asked 1,000 questions during this time. After finding out Mr. Simard had performed over 23,000 colonics, my fear of being embarrassed really disappeared!!

Instead of putting gallons of water into my colon as I had read online, he only put a cup of water through at a time.  I read that many people needed to have at least three colonics to really cleanse themselves. He recommended I only have two and then return every six months.

Did it work? Well, I had read that it's common to lose weight and that's why people do colonics. This was not my reasoning. I wanted to feel more energetic. I wanted to cleanse my body and feel refreshed. I did not lose weight from this one session. However, as soon as my session was over…I immediately felt light…not as heavy and refreshed. I am definitely looking forward to my next session.

What has been your experience with colon hydrotherapy?

I always lost weight! But it really screwed up my digestion system, so I have stayed away from them over the years. Not painful at all, definitely felt lighter!
