Charlotte, NC — Jeffre Scott wants to give back to the community, especially to those who can't help themselves: the homeless and unwanted animals of the Charlotte area.
So the Myers Park boutique, the area's premier one-stop shop for luxury beauty products and services, has for the second year in a row partnered with the Humane Society of Charlotte for the month of August.
"I have always had a soft spot for animals and I am committed to helping them every year as they are not able to help themselves," says boutique owner Jeffre Scott, who with partner Charlton Alicea owns four rescue animals: dogs Joey and Cody, cats Bella and Piper.
Ten percent of sales from Aug. 1-31 will be donated to the non-profit, space-available shelter. Jeffre has also made a donation to the silent auction of the group's Ties & Tails Gala, scheduled for Nov. 5 at the Ballantyne Hotel.
Founded in 1978, the mission of the Humane Society of Charlotte is to "bring love and hope to all animals by ensuring the humane treatment of companion animals through adoption, spay/neuter and education."
The shelter is proudly a no-kill facility, meaning euthanasia is reserved for those cases where an animal is suffering or poses a public safety concern.
