Located on the Northern coast of the Peloponnese is a small town called Aigio. Don’t let the size fool you. It’s rich in history and culture and offers several opportunities for sightseeing. It’s home to the Agricultural Cooperatives Union of Aeghion which produces currants, citrus fruits, organic products, and olive oil. The people of Aigio are incredibly nice and are quick to share the hidden gems of the area.

Where to Stay: Harmony Hotel Apartments
One of my favorite stays during my Corinthian Riviera tour was Harmony Hotel Apartments. The only downfall is that I wish I had more time there! This family-owned hotel offers 10 apartments which can accommodate anywhere from 2-8 people per room. I loved the patio right outside my room. So peaceful. The outdoor pool is absolutely stunning and the hotel has an adorable breakfast room and cafe-the perfect place to start your day. While I didn’t have the opportunity to check it out, Harmony Hotel also offers a meeting room if you really must work while there. I hope you are visiting for pleasure!
Where to eat? Refrain by Stratos Vardakis
Refrain by Stratos Vardakis is the temple of gastronomy in Aigio. Great food and drinks, lovely patio with a view, and we especially enjoyed our cooking demonstration by Chef George.
What to Do: RIRA Vineyards
It’s no secret that Greece is full of incredible vineyards and wineries but I especially loved the ones in Aigio. RIRA Vineyards has stunning views from the mountain top overlooking 250 acres in the hills of Aigialeia with a glimpse of the Corinthian Gulf. They produce 15 varieties at this vineyard and a favorite among our group was called 2 Roses. This award winning Rosé is made of the varieties Syrah and Grenache rouge.
Vineyard RIRA is open to the public for tours.
Tetramythos Winery is also located on the slopes of Aigialeia. This award winning bio winery houses stainless steel tanks connected with temperature control systems and focuses on the use of gravity for their wines. This unique method produces wines such as cabernet sauvignon and merlot but also varities of roditis and malagousia. They also exhibit an incredible display of wine accessories for purchase. You certainly don’t want to leave without a gift for a loved one (or yourself) to remind you of this stop on your tour of Aigio. There’s also great sight seeing nearing Tetramythos with the Rack of Railway, monasteries, historical sites, and the cave of lakes which I’d like to visit during my next trip.
Tetramythos is open to the public for tours.
Thank you to the town of Aigio for your hospitality during our stay!
