Confidence is Sexy (Belle Chic Boudoir Photography)

A few months back, I decided to do a shoot with Dawn from Greyson Steele Photography but with a twist. Boudoir! She just opened a new division – Belle Chic – at the studio and wanted to test out some shots. Let’s set the record straight. I am by no means comfortable with myself in a situation like that. Not because I am ashamed but because I am not always confident. I have the same fear of flaws as anyone.

But when I spoke to Dawn about this concept. I knew it was something I wanted to do. Not just for my husband to have some nice photos of me but for myself!  There is absolutely no reason why you can’t feel sexy after you become a wife and mother. In fact, you should feel great about yourself. I mean….we are super heros. How is that not sexy?

Dawn works with a pretty amazing hair/makeup artist Katie who was on hand to create a dynamite look. And boy did she! I was obsessed with what I called my Victoria Secret curls in my hair. If only I had the patience and the time to do that to my hair every day. My husband can confirm that I pranced around for hours with that hair. ha.

I’ve worked with Dawn numerous times. She’s taken family photos of me, wedding photos and even business headshots. She’s good at what she does and she makes me feel comfortable. So, if I was going to do a boudoir session…..she was going to be the one to do it for me.

When I received the photos……I was absolutely speechless. I’ll admit that it even brought tears to my eyes. I mean, yes….I have done boudoir before but that was pre-baby. That was pre-wife and mommy hood. I didn’t think I could look like that again. I am not as toned. I have marks in various places. And I’m just not as young any more.

But Dawn and Katie made me feel insanely gorgeous.

Here are some shots

They did such an amazing job. These are classy yet sexy. The most important thing is this. They made me feel good about myself. They made me embrace my womanhood, my wifehood, my mommyhood……I was able to appreciate the not so perfect things.

We as women want to feel beautiful. We want to have fun. We want to be confident (Even when we aren’t always). We want to be sexy.

And let me make it clear because someone could say “well so-so looks great so why do they need another confidence booster”.  It’s NOT about what someone else sees in the photo. It’s how YOU see YOURSELF in the photo and being proud of who you are.

Why not take boudoir photos for yourself?I bet your boyfriend, girlfriend, husband or wife would be thrilled! Not at the photo itself but your confidence in the photo. Confidence is sexy.

Are you interested in a boudoir photo session? Dawn is offering a special to PITQC readers. Check it out!!!! This is a pretty sweet deal!
