This season I'm so in love with plaids and florals. I love prints in rich colors and pretty textured fabrics like wool. Here are a few inspiring pieces…
Vivienne Westwood Red Label for Autumn 2010. I love all the patterns and jewel tones!
Fun fun! Have a great day! Els
Great post by A Beautiful Mess. Lovin' the plaids!
The Associated Press reported last week that Kroger Co. ,a grocery chain, is doubling the number of store brand cosmetics they will carry while introducing additional products later this year. Kroger began offering the beauty line, Mirra, in 2009. They kept this product launch rather quiet as this is the first I've heard of Mirra and you know how I love products! I am not certain how I feel about a grocery chain carrying it's own cosmetic line. While living in Atlanta, Kroger was my grocery store of choice but it sounds odd to purchase my cereal and foundation at the same time.
Mirra is based around natural ingredients and is priced below name brands while being offered in larger quantities. Surprisingly, Kroger did a fabulous job on the packaging of Mirra as seen here. It gives sort of a European feel…don't you think?
By the packaging alone, I think I'd purchase Mirra to try it out! I am still not sure how I would feel about purchasing my makeup from a grocery store. Don't get me wrong, sure I have grabbed something from the grocery store when I was in need of something quick. Even last week I bought a herbal skin cream from Harris Teeter for my cuticles. It was the packaging that brought me in and guess what…I actually like it. -> Zim's Crack Creme . It may be a funny name but trust me the stuff works.
I don't care where a product comes from as long as it gives me what I want. I do love my Laura Mercier, Lancome Paris and Chanel but hey if Mirra or any other store brand works then great! Saves me a few dollars. Although, I still feel odd about buying my cereal and foundation together. I do not live near Kroger now but I'm sure all other brands will follow suit soon enough. I will be interested to see how this plays out for Kroger and other stores.
I do have one tip for Kroger, work on your online presence! When googling Mirra, beauty products do not automatically show up. I wouldn't have known about Mirra if it weren't for Google alerts and the AP! And you've been around for a year now? Product lovers need to know this!
So question, would you rather have a one stop shop and buy your fav products while grocery shopping? Or do you enjoy your trips to the beauty/cosmetics store?
