Passports with Purpose

I am really excited to be apart of the Annual Passports with Purpose Fundraiser this year. PWP was founded as a way for travel bloggers to unite to give back to the places they visit. Past projects include raising $116,000 for five wells in Haiti, $84,000 for two schools in  Mali, and $90,000 for two libraries in Zambia among many other successful fundraisers.

Beginning November 8th, Passports with Purpose will begin it’s 2015 fundraiser and will be raising money to provide digital readers to five libraries in Kenya thru Worldreader.

“Each library will get 50 Kindle e-readers, containing both English and Swahili fiction and non-fiction for all ages, as well as Kenyan textbooks. The Worldreader program also includes comprehensive training for the librarians, as well as a field-tested and proven solar solution that will keep the e-readers charged if electricity is scarce.”

The e-readers will provide over 6,000 children, teachers, and parents access to over 50,000 books .That’s incredible!

What can you do?

Bloggers provide prizes via sponsors and Passports with Purpose auction off these prizes online. Every $10 donated buys a chance to win something really amazing whether it be a camera or even a vacation. Donors will not be disappointed. You’ll win a prize and help thousands have access to something we are so lucky to have.

Every dime donated will go towards Worldreader.

The fundraiser will take place from November 8th to November 18th. Do you work for a company that makes matching donations? Now is the time to start planning to include Passports With Purpose in your end-of-year giving.

Follow Passports with Purpose and myself in November and help us bring E-Readers to Kenya!
