This week’s Queen City Pretty is no stranger to the fashion world. From positions as a buyer with companies such as Nautica Enterprises, Lord & Taylor and Renault Printemps/Redcats USA , to fashion show productions, to being a fashion expert for the International Soul Music Conference in 2009, T. Strong aka StyleMayvin has had success at all levels of the fashion industry.

T. Strong , her husband, and three children currently reside in Charlotte. When not with her family, you can find her covering major style events for her internet radio show, Paper Dolls and providing a weekly “Life & Style Tip of the Week” on Fox News Rising. As if that weren’t enough, she also keeps Charlotteans “In the KNOW…” with weekly updates and Q&A sessions on  StyleMayvin.com where she is the Founder and Editor-In-Chief.

A big thank you to T. Strong for sharing her personal beauty tips with Pretty in the Queen City and being this week’s Queen City Pretty.  It’s exciting to see how much style Charlotte has thanks to individuals such as T. Strong. If you attend an event, and she’s there, then you know you are among the stylish of the Queen City.

What is your beauty product must have?  Maybelline New York Volume Express Mascara.  I can’t leave home without my Mascara and a little lip gloss.  Preferably Chanel Glossimer!

If I were to peek in your makeup bag, what would I find?  My makeup bag also serves as my “emergency glam kit” So, in addition to my usual mascara and lip gloss, I also have other beauty products as well as fashion fit items like safety pins, lent brush, nail polish remover, clear polish (fixes everything!) tweezers, extra pair of tights, my “go to” pumps and for my face, my Stila smoky eye palette, L’Oreal True Match foundation powder, Givanche Pop Gloss, A few cute shades of L’Oreal “Rich” eyeshadows, L’Oreal True Match Super Blendable Blush and a small eu de toilette of YSL’s “elle” fragrance.

You devote your time to helping others feel good about themselves, how do you pamper yourself after a long week?  I enjoy a nice quiet bubble bath in my bathroom filled with fragrant candles (my favorite is Aroma Therapy Jasmine Vanilla by Bath & Body Works), and a glass of Shiraz.  On those days when I want to pamper myself outside my house, I love a full body massage, manicure, pedicure and a beautiful fresh face of makeup by Flawless Makeup Art.  That’s a real treat!

What spa/salon service can you not live without?  Aroma Therapy Full Body Massage!  It’s the best because enlightening my sense of smell and touch simultaneously really relaxes and de-stresses me.

Who is your beauty icon?  Sam Fine.  He’s a celebrity makeup artist with absolutely the most flawless skin ever!  I had the opportunity to interview him on the red carpet at the Thurgood Marshall Scholarship Fund’s “Front Row” Fashion Show in NYC last October and his skin looks simply delicious!

What is your definition of Beauty?  My definition of beauty is all encompassing of the outer view of yourself as well as your inner feeling.  I believe we radiate beauty from within so if we feel good on the inside and take care of ourselves mentally and physically, we will be as beautiful as we feel.  Putting on a great outfit, a sexy shoe and glam accessories, all appropriate to your own personal style of course, can make you “feel” fabulous!  So, fashion and beauty really do work in tandem allowing you to confidently walk to runway of life everyday.

Any last words?  Having been voted by Charlotte Style Magazine as one of the top 5 Stylish People, I am happy and honored to be able to do the thing I love most everyday!  Fashion is my main professional focus, from writing and blogging, to my weekly “Life & Style Tip of the Week” on Fox News Rising and hosting fashion events in Charlotte and beyond, I live, eat and breathe Fashion… daily.  In fact, my next event that I am co-presenting and hosting is “The Beautiful People” on August 12, 2010 at Chima Brazilian Steakhouse.  My partners and I are continuing the fashion movement in Charlotte by bringing together all of the fashionable, chic “beautiful people” to one vinplace to meet, mingle and experience a “Brazilian Metropolis”.  We are expecting all of Charlotte’s finest to attend.  For guest list consideration, send your request to stylemayvinpr@gmail.com.  In the meantime, Stay in the KNOW with StyleMayvin at www.stylemayvin.com
