My goal is to provide you with the best of the best in spa/salon reviews and beauty trends in the Queen City. I recently had the desire to take a peek in the minds, makeup bags, and closets of our locals. From now on, every Wednesday, I will feature local leaders in all areas of our community. From makeup artists, to actors, to executives, I want to know how our community portrays beauty!!

Today I have the honor of featuring Casey Brewton. Casey Brewton is a local social media consultant and founder of CLB Social Communications. Casey also devotes her time to Charlotte Viewpoint-a local non-profit online publication around the arts and civic engagement in Charlotte–as the Director of Marketing.  Read further to learn more about Casey and her favorite spas/salons and beauty trends in Charlotte.

What is your beauty product must have? Soy Face Cleanser, Rose Marigold Water, and Soy Face Cream all by Fresh

If I were to peek in your makeup bag, what would I find?  A mix of drugstore buys with department store brands.  I always have 2 shades of L’oreal True Match powder, Benefit under eye concealer, Maybelline Great Lash mascara, a variety of MAC eye pencils, several shades of varying brands of eyeshadow mostly in browns and shimmery hues, and my ultimate love–Rose Sugar tinted SPF 15 lip balm by Fresh.  It’s a very sheer rosy color with a hint of glossiness and it works great to wear during the day by itself or as a base for extra color.
How do you pamper yourself after a long week? Mani/Pedi at Jon Ric salon with Liliana–she’s the best!
What spa/salon service can you not live without? Eyebrow threading.  I go see Gabriella at Euphoria Salon every 4 weeks–it’s like clockwork.
Who is your beauty icon? My mom.  She taught me how to put on makeup but then wouldn’t really let me wear it because she wanted me to learn to love my natural look.  She’s a natural beauty–very athletic, wears SPF 50000 and has a beautiful natural glow, and very smart!

What is your definition of Beauty? Beauty comes when someone loves who they are from the inside out.  To me, if I love and appreciate something, I want to take care of it.  So beauty is when I take care of myself–heart, mind, body, and soul–so the very best me can shine!
Any last words? Don’t forget to pamper your mind!
